Kamal Haasan hails Pinarayi Vijayan govt on LDF's first anniversary

The LDF government in Kerala, headed by Pinarayi, will complete one year in office on Thursday In an e-mail message to the Chief Minister office, Kamal said he was happy to celebrate the occasion "I wish and hope Kerala sets an example for the neighbouring states to follow in many more fields"

Veteran Tamil actor Kamal Haasan congratulated Kerala's LDF government for providing "good governance" and also hoped Kerala will set an example to neighbouring states in various fields. 

The ruling LDF government in Kerala, headed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, will complete one year in office on Thursday, May 25. In an e-mail message to the Chief Minister'a office, Kamal said he was happy to celebrate the occasion with the people of Kerala. 

"I am happy to celebrate one year of good governance along with the people of Kerala. Wish and hope Kerala sets an example for the neighbouring states to follow in many more fields," read Kamal's mail.

CM turns 73

Meanwhile, Kerala CM Pinarayi turned 73 on Wednesday.

Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala brought the matter to notice of the Assembly. "Today is CM's birthday. I extend my wishes", Chennithala said. Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan then greeted Pinarayi on behalf of all the members. 

Last year Pinarayi had celebrated his birthday with the media by distributing sweets. After giving ladoos, the CM had asked mediapersons if they knew why he had distributed the sweets. "Today is my birthday. I had kept it as a secret," the CM had said, taking everyone by surprise.
