Kerala High Court has quashed a quick verification order against Mohanlal in the case relating to the seizure of elephant tusks from his residence in Kochi.

Acting on a complaint, Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court had ordered Vigilance Department to conduct a quick verification against the actor, former Forest Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and three other persons, who were named accused in the case.

The court clarified that an order is not possible under Prevention of Corruption Act in the current situation. Mohanlal had appeared before the court that the state government had given him permission to keep the tusks. The state granted permission based on a direction from Centre.

The case surfaced in 2011 following an Income Tax raid at the actor's house. Four tusks were seized from his house at Thevara.

Forest Department registered a case against him as the possession of elephant tusk is in violation of Forest and Wildlife Act.
