BSP has called for a hartal in Kozhikode district on Saturday to protest an attack on their office by CPM to which BJP extended support. 

The parties have exempted emergency services from the dawn to dusk hartal.

This is the second consecutive hartal day in Kozhikode. CPM and BJP had observed hartal in the district on Friday.

CPM had called for a hartal in Kozhikode district on Friday after steel bombs were hurled at party's district committee office around 12.45 am. Meanwhile, RSS also has called for a hartal in five assembly constituencies in the district. 

RSS has staged the dawn-to-dusk strike to protest the attack on their office in Vadakara. Both parties have exempted vehicles from the hartal. 

Two bombs were hurled at CPM office as the district secretary P Mohanan reached the place, injuring party worker Sujith. They reported that five unidentified persons were seen fleeing the spot. 

The BJP had called for a hartal in Thiruvananthapuram district to protest an attack on party district office.
