4:30 pm: HC files suo moto case against the suicide of a differently-abled man in Kozhikode
The High Court has taken a suo motu case in Kozhikode in the case of the hanging of a differently-abled man named Walayathu Joseph (74) due to non-payment of pension. Chief Justice's permission was sought for further proceedings in the case. The Central Government, Social Justice Department, Kozhikode District Collector and Chakkittapara Panchayat Secretary will be made opposite parties in the case.

The Enforcement Directorate is questioning Bineesh Kodiyeri in connection with FEMA violation case. The questioning is in FEMA cases related to companies with which Bineesh Kodiyeri is involved. He was summoned last week but did not appear.
