BJP State President and former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa has threatened to release the list of corruption charges against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his team within the next couple of days. The FIR will have names of Siddaramaiah, his family, his team of ministers, MLAs and also Kempaiah. He also threatened to release corruption charges against Water Resources Minister MB Patil. The BJP state president said a massive protest rally will be held in Vijayapura on October 23 demanding his resignation, reports Kannada Prabha. The BJP strongman stated that there was rampant corruption in the Siddaramaiah government. The BJP is gathering information on the corrupt ministers in the Congress government which will be placed before the public.
Coming down heavily on Water Resources Minister Patil, Yeddyurappa said he has looted the state treasury and he will be exposed before the public. He recalled that during his tenure as the deputy chief minister, he had sanctioned a special package of Rs 17,807 crore for the rehabilitation and renovation of Almatti Dam with regard to increasing the height of the dam. But Minister Patil does not even mentions instead speaks only of the Congress government's achievements. "We will demand his resignation," he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has brushed off these allegations and stated that if there was any misappropriation in the government, let them bring it out. "Let Yeddyurappa release evidence if they have," Siddaramaiah said. Terming the BJP allegations against Congress as baseless, Siddaramaiah said "Let him prove it, I am ready for public debate."
Reacting to Yeddyurappa’s comment that Rahul Gandhi becoming a Prime Minister is a “beggar’s dream”, Siddaramaiah called it a childish statement.
