BJP State President BS Yeddyurappa, when he was the Chief Minister, seven years ago had adopted a child and promised to help him in his studies.

Vishwanath of Byatarayanapura in Bengaluru was adopted by BS Yeddyurappa. The 10-year-old child Vishwanath was found crying in front of the Gali Anjaneya Temple.

Looking at the child, Yeddyurappa had adopted him and also had told that he would deposit Rs 1 lakh in the boy's name. Vishwanath is a son of Basappa and Shivamma couple, hailing from an economically poor family.

However, he completed the tenth standard by arranging for the money with difficulty. But he is not in a position of affording the college education.

When he with his parents tried to approach Siddalingaswamy. But they were shocked as he refused to help them and allegedly said to get the help directly from Yeddyurappa.
