Woman in labour suffers outside hospital for hours but no doctors arrive in Malvalli

A 22 year-old-woman in labour was left out in the open in front of the government hospital for hours as no doctors attended on her in Malvalli taluk of Mandya district. 

The incident occurred at Belakawadi village in Malavalli taluk, Mandya district. The parents of the 22-year-old woman had brought her to the hospital as she was in the labour pain. The hospital shut its door as there was no doctor. She continued to suffer in front of the hospital. When the parents asked the hospital staff to provide an ambulance at least to shift her to another hospital, the rude staff reportedly replied that the ambulance was under repair. Media persons who arrived on the spot contacted the Malavalli hospital and arranged for an ambulance. With timely help, the woman gave birth to a healthy baby boy, reports Kannada Prabha.
