
A 35 year old woman from Bharathinagar has lodged a complaint with the police that her husband has raped her.
Earlier in 2015, she had lodged a complaint against him alleging sexual assault on their 3 year old daughter.
The husband was arrested under POCSO Act and was subjected to inquiry. However, the court acquitted him. Following this the husband had lodged a complaint with the police stating that his wife had stolen gold ornaments from the house and sold them.
In a dramatic development, the woman, who got admitted at Bowring Hospital, first alleged that four unidentified strangers had raped her at KR Puram. The police arrived and recorded her statement. The woman then changed it and said the incident had happened at Ramamurthynagar.
Later she said four youths stopped her at Jambusavari Dinne and gang raped her. She also said they burnt her with cigarettes. The confused police, asked the women police to interrogate her and she finally said her husband had raped her. A complaint has been registered.
However, the doctors who examined her were unable to ascertain sexual assault.
