It was a moment that the Bengaluru cops who were trailing rowdy sheeter Naga in Chennai, never expected. In an embarrassing turn to the rowdy-sheeter Naga's arrest drama in Vellor, Bengaluru police who had gone to arrest the former, found themselves 'arrested' by Vellor police.
It so happened that soon after Bengaluru police arrested rowdy-sheeter Naga and his sons at Vellor, Naga's aides lodged a complaint with Vellore police that Naga has been kidnapped. Acting on the complaint, the Vellore police caught Bengaluru cops with Naga and allegedly dragged them to the police. Embarrassed, the City cops tried explaining them but in vain.

There was a heated exchange between the cops of two states, it is said. However, the matter forced Additional Commissioner of Police Hemanth Nimbalkar to intervene. He apparently called up Vellor police and explained about the whole operation and only then the Vellore police agreed to let the city cops go, it is said. The police are expected to bring rowdy Naga by Friday afternoon.
Nagaraj alias Naga has been absconding since April 14 after the city police raided his house in Srirampura. Demonetised notes worth Rs 14.8 crore were found in Naga's home.
