Video: Yeddyurappa caught on camera distributing money

Synopsis

Former CM BS Yeddyurappa distributes Rs 1 lakh compensation to the family of farmer who committed suicide at Gundlupet The action is a violation of code of conduct as by-election is scheduled for Gundlupet on April 9 BJP leader’s action looks like the gimmick to woo voters even at the cost of violation of rule

Amidst warning by Yeddyurappa’s associates not to capture anything on the mobile phone, Yeddyurappa has given compensation to the family of the farmer who committed suicide. Yeddyurappa visited the farmer’s house and gave money.

Yeddyurappa’s associates had even informed the media about his visit, and the leader later spoke to the media and confirmed that he had given the compensation. Knowing very well that it was the violation of the code of conduct, the BJP is trying all cards to woo voters ahead of the by-polls in the constituency.

By-election will be conducted in Nanjangud and Gudlupet constituencies on April 9 and currently code of conduct is in effect.

Though Yeddyurappa did not speak anything about violating the code of conduct, it looked like he wanted the news of him helping the farmer’s family to spread, to create a positive wave for the party.

This election has become the prestige issue for both Congress and BJP. While BJP is trying to create a UP-like wave in Karnataka, Congress will try to retain its seat in the respective constituencies.
