
A PUC student took his father’s car for a ride, his friend without a license drives it, killing a 12-year-old boy and causing grave injury to another. Car owner and the student who drove the car have been arrested by the Banaswadi Traffic police.
The arrested are Ramesh alias Lancer Ramesh (50) and his son Shreyas’ friend Suresh (18), residents of Babusab Palya. It was found that the car carried a fake number plate and a case has been registered at the Hennur police station also in this regard.
Shreyas, a second PUC failed, took out his father Ramesh’s car and went for a ride along with his friend Suresh on May 27. Suresh was driving the car when near the Ganesh temple on Service Road near Babusab Palya he lost control and hit a two wheeler first, next a pedestrian boy Boran and another person. The 12-year-old boy Boran died and the other person is said to be critical. After the accident both Suresh and Shreyas got scared and ran away leaving the car on the spot.
The Banaswadi police arrived on the scene and seized the car. During investigation it was found to be carrying a fake number plate. The police arrested Suresh at K R Puram railway station. It was found that he did not have a license and also that the car belonged to Shreya's father Ramesh. The police arrested Ramesh and also questioned Shreyas.
Hennur police have booked a case and are investigating.
