Tough competition between Fire Brigade DIG Neelamani Narasimharaju and CID DGP HC Kishporechandra to step into the place of RK Dutta, DIG, who is retiring this month end, is a challenge for CM, reported Kannada Prabha.

Fire Brigade DGP Neelamani is senior in service and as per the Supreme Court order that seniority must be considered on priority.  However, serious lobbying is being done by the Vokkaliga ministers and MLAs to consider CID DGP Kishorechandra.

Ministers DK Shivakumar, Krishna Byregowda, M Krishnappa and MLAs ST Somashekhar, Ambarish have appealed to the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to appoint him.

Neelamani’s husband former IAS officer DN Narasimharaju is a close friend of Siddaramaiah and he has appealed to the CM to consider seniority.  Neelamani herself has written to Siddaramaiah requesting him to consider her seniority. Siddaramaiah is in a dilemma. The meeting is expected to be held in a day or two.
