This is the whopping amount Karnataka spent in the Jayalalithaa DA case

In an RTI reply, it has been revealed that the Karnataka state government spent a whooping ₹2.78 crore on the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed in the Supreme Court of India in the disproportionate assets case of former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa. 

 

This SLP was filed by the government after Karnataka high court set aside the judgement of the special court that convicted all the accused, and acquitted all the accused in the DA case, according to a leading daily report. 

 

The total cost of the SLP was ₹2,78,70,888 that includes ₹1.06 crore to senior advocate BV Acharya, ₹95.16 lakh to senior advocate Dushyant Dave, ₹32.01 lakh to advocate Joseph Aristotle, ₹42.23 lakh to advocate Sandesh Chowla, and ₹2.43 lakh to Advocate General Madhusudan R Naik. The RTI was filed by Bengaluru-based activist T Narasimha Murthy to the office of Advocate General.
