Techies take to streets against pink slip

Synopsis

A massive protest rally by the software employees against the Pink Slip system. Thousands of techies are planning a rally at Freedom Park to protest the Pink Slip. This is the first time that software sector is protesting at such a large scale. Demand discontinuing compulsory resignation, fixing the working hours to 8. Safety of women employees, protecting them from harassment.    

A massive protest rally is organised on Saturday by the software employees against the Pink Slip system of laying off. Thousands of techies are planning a rally at Freedom Park to protest the Pink Slip and later will meet ITBT Minister Priyank Kharge and submit an appeal requesting job security.  This is the first time that software sector is protesting at such a large scale in what is called as the nation’s IT capital Bengaluru, reported Kannada Prabha.

The Information Technology Employees Association has organised this rally.  Their various demands include  discontinuing unjustful practices like compulsory resignation, fixing the working hours to 8, formulating a policy while recruiting students and new recruits, safety of women employees, protecting them from harassment and others.
