
IAS officer S P Shadakshari Swamy, brother of Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamy of Suttur mutt, Mysuru, is among the four appointed as members to KPSC. The recommendations were signed by the Governor V R Vala and the orders passed on Saturday reported Kannada Prabha.
Shadakshara Swamy is currently the Commissioner for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. The other three appointed are Dr H Ravi Kumar, director of K C General Hospital and a close associate of the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Dr R Lakshminarayana, environment officer with Karnataka State Pollution Control Board. Lawyer Srikanth Rao from Raichur has been appointed as the non-official member. Shadakshari Swamy belong sto Lingayat community, Dr H Ravikumar is a Madivala and Dr R Lakshminarayana belongs to backward Savitha Samaj community. Srikanth Rao belongs to Uppara community.
Responding to the criticism to appointments the Chief Minister asked why can’t members of Ahind community be appointed to KPSC? Shadakshari Swamy belongs to Lingayat community. Allegations that I am favouring those close to me is far from truth, he said.
