The State Government that had announced it would denotify dried up water bodies across the State has now retracted its decision. The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said that the State Government is not denotifying any dried up tank, reported Kannada Prabha.
He was responding to a letter written by Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda to drop any proposal to denotify dried up tanks. CM tweeted stating that it is mistaken information that the government is collecting information about dried up tanks to denotify. The information is being collected to revive dried up tanks and not to denotify them, he explained.
It is said that senior ministers expressed their dissatisfaction to CM regarding denotification attempts of dried up tanks in the State as it would lead to land sharks to grabbing tank area and encourage encroachment.
