Synopsis

Shivajinagar to be developed in Rs 140 cr and K R Market in Rs 40 cr Pedestrian bridge from Russel Market to Shivajinagara bus stand. Commercial complex at the BBMP ground near Shivajinagara bus stand. Pedestrian bridge from bus stand to church and Muthyalamma temple.

Right on the heels of Bengaluru getting the Smart City tag under the Central Government project, the BBMP has prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the development of Shivaji Nagar and K R Market at an estimated Rs 180 crores.  The development of Shivajinagar and K R Market was mentioned in the proposal submitted to the Central Government.  Hence both the DPRs are ready and will be implemented after forming the Special Purpose Vehicle, reported Kannada Prabha.

The DPR is formulated to develop Shivajinagar at an estimate of Rs 140 crore and K r Market at an estimate of Rs 40 crores.  Jana USP Company has prepared both the DPRs. Along with this construction of a commercial complex near BBMP ground at Shivajinagar bus stand, parking lot and other amenities are planned. A demo video is also prepared.

A pedestrian bridge from Russel Market to Shivajinagar bus stand is also planned. Also a bridge connecting the bus stand to the St Mary’s Basilica and Muthyalamma Devi temple are also planned. According to the Smart City project, it is mandatory to formulate a special purpose vehicle. The district incharge secretary will be the SPV chairman and the local organization MD will be the commissioner.  It will also have 13 members consisting 6 from BBMP, 6 from State Government, 1 representative from Central Government and 2 urban experts.
