Senior actor Doddanna takes ill, admitted to hospital

Doddanna felt uneasy during the shooting in Vijayapura He was rushed to Bengaluru in an ambulance He is one of the most loved comedians in Sandalwood

Kanandigas' favourite comedian Doddanna has taken ill after he complained of uneasiness during a shooting at Vijayapura. He was rushed to a hospital in Bengaluru.

Doctors at Suguna Hospital in Rajajinagar are treating Doddanna. According to them Doddanna suffers from low BP. His legs have been swollen too. However, there is nothing to worry said Rekha, senior doctor in Suguna.

Doddanna who comes from a theatre background - he was an artiste with Vighneshwara Kala Sangha - joined films later. He has been enthralling the audience with his out-of-the-box performances. So far, Doddanna has acted in over 500 movies. However, the movies with Doddanna and Jaggesh combination were super duper hits in 90s.

Although, Doddanna is known for his comic roles, his performance in mythological and social theme based movies too have won the hearts of audience. The famous Bollywood movie 'Baap Numbari Beta Dus Numbari' was adapted to Sandalwood with Doddanna and Jaggesh again. The movie, 'Appa Kalla Maga Malla' too had seen houseful shows. His negative characters in couple of the movies have also wowed the audience.
