In yet another incident, a school bus driver has been arrested for allegedly molesting a three-and-a-half-year-old girl in Bengaluru on Tuesday. Television channels reported that a similar incident was reported from the same school earlier. However, the identity of the school is not known, yet.
It is reported that the accused allegedly assaulted the victim while dropping her home. The victim's parents rushed her to doctor after she complained of pain. Doctors reportedly confirmed the sexual assault. The police have reportedly verified CCTV grabs from the school and have also lodged a Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) Act against the driver. The accused is being interrogated.
Of late, the number of POCSO cases in Karnataka have been on the rise and more so in Bengaluru, alone. Last year, as many as 1,827 cases were registered under POCSO in the state, of which 297 were from Bengaluru city alone, making the city number one in POCSO cases in the whole country!
