A sand-laden lorry caved in at a road near Maruti Seva Nagar. The lorry was on its way to Tamil Nadu when the incident happened in Cox Town, Jeevanahalli. The road was made open for the public after laying fresh concrete on the road only 5 days ago.

The heavy rains have exposed the shoddy road work in the city. Recently, city mayor G.Padmavathi slapped a fine of Rs 5 lakh on a contractor for poor quality of work at the signal-free corridor project on Old Madras Road.

A cave-in occurred in KR Market where the underground metro construction is going on.

On May 26, a busy road in Koramangala was flooded with sewage water from a faulty drain. Roads in several parts of the city including Yeshwanthpur and Mathikere have not been re-laid after repair works.
