Raghu alias Tablet Raghu (30), a rowdy-sheeter, was hacked to death by a rival gang on Monday night on the Talaghattapura 100 feet road, reports Kannada Prabha.
A resident of Kashi Nagara, near Kumaraswamy Layout, 'Tablet' Raghu was returning after midnight pooja on New Moon Day at a temple in Pandavapura at around 12.30 am. His arch-rival Vajra and his gang who were waiting for him on 100 feet road near Talaghattapura attacked him lethal weapons. Raghu died on the spot and his associate Madhu was injured and has been admitted to a hospital.
Raghu and Vajra were both good friends residing in Kumaraswamy Layout for a long time. However, they had fallen out in their attempt to take control of the crime world. The two gangs had assaulted each other on several occasions. Vajra was keeping a close eye on the movements of 'Tablet' Raghu. He knew Raghu would go to Pandavapura on the New Moon Day midnight to the temple. Vajra was ready to strike. When Raghu was returning after the Puja, Vajra and his gang struck him near Talaghattapura. Raghu’s associates ran away fearing fatalities. But Madhu, Raghu’s friend, stood by him. Raghu died on the spot. Locals admitted Madhu to a nearby hospital and he is said to be out of danger.
Raghu was a noted rowdy-sheeter, who had over 10 cases of murder and an attempt to murder has been filed against him. He had married only 10 months ago and was residing with his wife at Kashi Nagara.
A case has been booked in Talaghattapura police station and investigation is on.
