Former corporator and mastermind of ‘black and white’ deal, undertrial at Parappana Agrahara jail, Nagaraja alias Naga consumed phenol and created high drama, complaining of severe stomach ache pleading to get out of the jail. However, the jail authorities saw through his drama and called the doctor to come to jail and got him treated in the cell itself. Not only that, they also got him to clean up the mess he had created in the cell, which he shares with another undertrial, reports Kannada Prabha.

The jail authorities had kept him in a separate cell along with one more undertrail. When the cleaners came to wash the toilet, a bottle of phenol was kept near the cell. Naga consumed it, vomited and acted very sick.

Seeing him vomit, the security staff immediately contacted the senior authorities. When they arrived and inspected, it was found that he had consumed phenol. Naga pleaded that he was sick and should be taken to the hospital outside the jail. However, the officials saw through his drama and told him that he will not be taken out and called the doctor and treated him in the jail itself.

Not only that the authorities also got Naga to clean up the mess he had created in the cell. Extra care is now to be taken to see that Naga does not get any stuff and is not being let out during evening walks also. A jail official told Kannada Prabha that he drank phenol thinking that he could be taken out to a hospital and he could meet people and speed up his bail process.

It can be recalled here that Naga is facing charges of extortion and money laundering. He went absconding after the Bengaluru police raided his house. However, he was nabbed after in Chennai along with his two sons.
