Former mining baron G Janardhan Reddy who has been restricted from visiting his home town, Ballari, has now got a breather - temporary, though - from the Supreme Court. Reddy has been permitted to visit Ballari to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his wedding.

The former minister had appealed to the Supreme Court to allow him to celebrate the silver jubilee of his wedding anniversary with his family and friends at his hometown. Considering his request, the court permitted him to visit Ballari for a period of four days from June 1 to 4. Reddy who is expected to arrive in the town on May 31 midnight has plans to meet farmers who are desilting the lake and extend his support to them. His brother and Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) former chairman Somashekhar Reddy too confirmed about Reddy's arrival.

Former minister and BJP leader Janardhan Reddy who is accused of illegal mining is now out on bail.  In fact, there were rumours that Reddy wanted to arrange his daughter Brahmini's wedding in Ballari, last year. But with the court strictures, he shifted the venue to Bengaluru. However, admitting his plea, the court allowed him to visit his hometown for 21 days from November 1, 2016 to complete the rituals associated with wedding and also to distribute invites of his daughter's wedding. His daughter was married on November 16.

Last year, when Reddy visited Ballari - which was five years after he was jailed, he was given a rousing reception by his brothers.
