Malavalli Huchche Gowda Amarnath, also popular as Mandyada Gandu, turned 65 today. The celebrated actor-turned- politician Ambareesh was born at Doddarasikere, Maddur in Karnataka on May 29 in 1952.

From his accidental debut in Nagarahavu in the negative role to movies like Antha, Paduvaralli Pandavaru, Ranganayaki, Shubhamangala to the recent Habba, Kallarali Hoovagi and even Katariveera Surasundarangi Ambareesh has made it big in the Kannada film industry.

However, though initially he was seen active in politics, off late, it looks like he is slowly distancing himself from politics.
