Rahul’s marriage comment by Karjola irks Congress leaders

Synopsis

The Congress leaders are irked by BJP's Govinda Karjola's comment on Rahul Gandhi's marriage. Karjola said he would find a Dalit girl for Rahul Gandhi to marry. Dinesh Gundurao said BJP is always uncultured and has no topics to discuss. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the in no other family has as many inter caste marriages as in Nehru family. U T Khader ridiculed that BJP is planning to start a marriage bureau than focus on developmental issues.  

The Congress leaders have not taken lightly to the comment made by BJP leader Govinda Karjola that he is ready to get AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi married to a Dalit girl. They said stop petty politics and advice Prime Minister Modi to solve State’s problems, reported Kannada Prabha.

Speaking to newspersons, MLC C M Ibrahim said let BJP leaders travel the State, find out the problems faced by people. People are suffering from extreme weather conditions. BJP is not keen on solving Mahadayi dispute. The prices of petrol, diesel, groceries and vegetables are skyrocketing. By getting into petty politics BJP is showing utter disregard to people’s problems, he said.

KPCC executive president Dinesh Gundurao said BJP is always uncultured and has no topics to discuss. We will not tolerate light comments about our leaders. We can also make comments on Narendra Modi and the State BJP leaders, he commented.

Responding to Karjola’s comment the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the in no other family has as many inter caste marriages as in Nehru family. Food Minister UT Khader ridiculed that BJP is planning to start a marriage bureau than focus on developmental issues.

Responding to this BJP’s CT Ravi said Karjola made the comment because if delayed Rahul Gandhi may not get any woman to marry.
