Synopsis

A traditional fishing boat capsized in Arabian sea at Baikampady near Mangaluru Among the seven fishermen, six have been rescued and another one is feared dead Some fishermen who were fishing along with them came to their rescue

A fisherman is suspected to have been drowned while six others were rescued when a boat in which they were fishing capsized in Arabian sea at Baikampady near Mangaluru on Sunday. The missing fisherman is identified as Premanatha.

It is reported that the fishermen had gone into the sea for fishing in their traditional boats. However, due to heavy tides, the boat began to capsize and the fishermen were screaming for help. Fishermen in another boat who heard their screams rushed to their help. While they managed to rescue six of them, one is feared to have been drowned, it is reported. Search is on to retrieve Premanath's body. Panambur police have lodged a case in this regard and are investigating.
