Slain journalist Gauri Lankesh’s mother Indira Lankesh has issued a notice to the Karnataka Film Chamber not to permit anybody to make a film based on her life or her assassination, reports Kannada Prabha.
Indira Lankesh’s lawyer Shankarappa issued the notice to the Chamber which states Gauri’s killing is a sensitive issue and the family is personally and socially devastated. It is not right to make a film on the subject with a profit motivation. It is a sad proposition. Gauri and her paper are precious to the family and others are not welcome into it. If in case somebody makes a film based on Gauri’s life and assassination, a defamation case of Rs 10 crore will be filed against such a person, says the notice.
It may be recalled here that AMR Ramesh had issued a press statement that he would make a movie on Gauri Lankesh’s killing.
