MLA who fractured hand undergoes surgery

Synopsis

The Kollegal MLA Jayanna (66) fell down and fractured his hand during group photo of legislators with the President Ram Nath Kovind. Chief of orthopaedics Dr Thomas Chandy and senior ortho consultant Dr Ravi Shankar examined him and conducted a surgery. They fixed a plate with 11 holes and screws in to his right hand, under local anaesthesia and he was shifted to ward. He will be discharged after 2 days said the hospital doctors.

The Kollegal MLA Jayanna (66) who fell down and fractured his right hand during the melee on the occasion of group photo of legislators with the President Ramanath Kovind on Wednesday, underwent a surgery at Hosmat Hospital on Thursday, reported Kannada Prabha.

Jayanna was admitted to Hosmat Hospital immediately after the accident. On Thursday morning chief of orthopaedics Dr Thomas Chandy and senior ortho consultant Dr Ravi Shankar examined him and conducted a surgery fixing a plate with 11 holes and screws in to his right hand. The surgery was conducted under local anaesthesia and he was shifted to ward. He will be discharged after 2 days said the hospital doctors.
