Minor gang-raped in Hubballi gives birth to child; 4 arrested

A man coaxed a minor girl into loving her in Hubballi. When the girl started believing him, he asked her to meet him at some place where she was gang-raped by his friends.

The police have arrested four persons in this regard, and they have been identified as Annappa, Amith, Sunil and Vinod from various layouts in Hubballi. They have been booked under POCSO Act, said Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner Dr Panduranga in a press release.

As per One India report, Annappa Sherkhan, 23, of Sharavathi Nagar introduced himself to a girl as Veerendra. He made the minor girl believe that he was in love with her.

Then he made a plan and took the girl to an unidentified place where three of his friends were waiting. As soon as the girl came, the four raped her brutally. They threatened the girl not to tell about this incident to any one. They even told that if the issue comes out, they will release the video of the rape captured in the mobile phone.

But even though initially the girl did not tell anyone about the incident, her family came to know about it when the girl became pregnant. She delivered a baby boy in last December 2016. The girl’s parents filed a case with the Hubballi police on December 10, 2016.

Hubballi Police Inspector Sripad Jalde has cracked the case and has arrested four accused in the case.
