In a bizarre case, a Karnataka minister has used his official letterhead as a marriage invitation!
Urban Development Minister R Roshan Baig seemed to have transformed a public office into a personal one. In a note sent across to several VIPs and VVIPs, Baig has typed out a 'Please attend my son's wedding' invite on official letterhead stationary and sent it out as invites.
The wedding will take place in Kanpur on 18th March, and the reception will be held on 26th of same month. As soon as news about the Minister's idea reached his political adversaries, they did not waste a single minute or mince words in their attacks.
"The official letterhead should be used for official purposes, but the Minister has stooped to such a level that he has used the public office for his personal reason. I condemn this," said Ravi Krishna Reddy, Luncha Mukta Karnataka Vedike.
Asianet Newsable reached out to Minister Roshan Baig, who said he didn't care about such comments.
"I have not misused any public office. The letter was used only as covering letter. There is a separate invite. My political adversaries are trying to defame and taint me, but I will not care as I work for people," he said.
