
The controversial Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Bill may be presented on Tuesday at the Winter assembly session at Belagavi. Prior to that the Cabinet may give its consent at a meeting scheduled for Monday evening, reports Kannada Prabha.
The State government and the Indian Medical Association had a marathon meeting on Friday and mutually consented to delete and amend certain points. Legal opinion is being sought to add some new points. The draft bill has to be approved by the Cabinet before it can be presented at the assembly. Hence legal opinion will be obtained on Monday to finalise the draft.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is travelling to Mandya district on Monday and will arrive at Belagavi at 5.30 pm. The Cabinet meeting is scheduled for 6.30 pm, where the draft bill would be debated once again and finalised. Hence the bill most probably will be tabled on Tuesday, say sources.
