An auto driver who tried to mediate between his two love-struck friends was grievously attacked near Shirke Apartments near Kengeri and is now recuperating at the Victoria Hospital. The injured has been identified as Rajendra (22).

Reportedly, Rajendra's friends Divakar and Yash were allegedly in love with a girl studying in a private college. Both Divakar and Yash had fought over the girl many a times. Rajendra who got to know about his friends fighting over a girl, volunteered to mediate between them. A month ago, Yash had invited one of his friends Girish to talk on behalf of him. However, Divakar kicked up a fight with Girish and even assaulted him. Severely injured Girish was rushed to the hospital, reports Kannada Prabha.

This reportedly upset Yash and he along with some of his friends attacked Rajendra near the Shirke apartments, blaming him for Girish's state. Altough, Divakar and other friends too were with Rajendra, they ran away as soon as Yash and his gang pounced on Rajendra. Severely injured Rajendra has now been shifted to Victoria Hospital and the Kengeri police have lodged a case in this regard.
