
The police have arrested an auto driver who created tension on Tipu Jayanti by throwing stones at buses and shops near Tilak Nagar. Gopi, the arrested is a resident of Banashankari. He is mentally unstable and at night comes out and behaves unruly.
On November 10 he had behaved in the same manner during the day. There is no connection between him and Tipu Jayanti protests clarified East Division additional commissioner Seemantha Kumar, reported Kannada Prabha.
The stone throwing had caused tension in Tilak Nagar area and three teams were formed to find the culprit. After checking the CCTV footages in the area the police identified Gopi and based on that the police arrested him near K r Market. There is no connection between that and Tipu Jayanthi celebrations said Additional Police Commissioner.
In the event of stone throwing during night, the Bengaluru Police have tightened the checking of vehicles plying at night. Almost 100 bikes have been seized in the Eastern region of White Field, East, North East and North West regions Seemanth Kumar said. After the owners come to station and present the documents the vehicles are being released. Strict action will be taken against miscreants who stone vehicles he said.
