Man tried to capture the birth of a calf, instead was killed by elephant

Synopsis

A planter tries to take picture while an elephant is giving birth to the calf at Sakaleshpur A wild elephant noticed this and attacked the man taking the picture He was taken to hospital but died as he failed to respond to the treatment

In Sakaleshpur, a man tried to take pictures of an elephant giving birth to the calf. But noticing this, a herd of wild elephants attacked him injuring the man severely, later he breathed his last in the hospital.

This incident occurred at Haidur village, Sakaleshpur in Hassan district. Arun, a coffee planter of Haidur also was one among the people who had come to watch the female elephant deliver a calf. The wild elephant got labour pains when it was trying to cross the Ballupet-Koodlipet main road.

People from the surrounding villages gathered to watch it. But the elephant was accompanied by 20 jumbos. Arun was sitting in a jeep and was trying to click pictures when a wild elephant attacked him, severely injuring him.

Though the residents immediately took him to the district hospital, failing to respond to treatment, he breathed his last in the hospital.
