Synopsis

Mahanadi Kannada serial actress Rachana and actor Jeevan died in an accident near Solur in Malur. The car they were travelling in collided with a tractor at 2 am on Thursday The Mahanadi crew members were travelling to Kukke Subramanya temple to celebrate co-actor Karthik's birthday.

Rachana,23, and Jeevan, 25, were in the TATA Safari on their way to Kukke Subramanya Temple along with five other crew members of Mahanadi serial.

They were going to the temple to seek blessings of the Lord Subramanya on the occasion of the birthday of Karthik, one of the crew members of the serial. 

Jeevan was driving the car when it collided with a halted tractor at 2 am on Thursday (August 24) at Solur.

The five more travelling in the car with Rachana and Jeevan have escaped with minor injuries. The co-actors travelled with Rachana and Jeevan are Ranjith, Uttham, Honnesh, birthday boy Karthik and Eric. They have been admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

NH 48 Kudur police have filed a case in this regard and are investigating the matter.

Apart from Mahanandi, Rachana had acted in serials Triveni Sangama and Madhubala.
