Six persons working in the fields at Nandinathapura rushed inside a temple to save themselves from the heavy rain Unfortunately, they were killed when lightning struck the temple Three died on the spot and three breathed last on their way to hospital

Heavy rains accompanied by lightning and thunder has killed six people of a village in Mysuru.

Six persons, who were working in the fields at Nandinathapura rushed inside a temple to save themselves from the heavy rain. But unfortunately, they were killed when lightning struck the temple.

The victims have been identified as Puttanna, 60, Suvarnamma, 45, Sujay 18, Sudeep, Thimmegowda, Umesh. Even temple couldn't save them from nature's fury.

Eight persons rushed inside the temple when it started raining. But soon a lightning struck the temple and killed three people on the spot. Three died on their way to the hospital. One person has suffered severe injuries and is fighting for his life in the hospital.

CM Siddaramaiah has announced Rs 4 lakh compensation to the families of victims. The money will be released from the State Disaster Response Fund (Rs 4 lakh) and  from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (Rs 1 lakh).

 

 

 

The victims are the residents of Hunasawadi, Piriyaptna in Mysuru. The police have visited the place and have inspected the spot. A case in this regard has been booked in the Piriyapatna Police Station.
