NS Leesha, a victim of bomb blast at Malleshwaram opposite to BJP office in 2013, has been appointed as the First Division Clerk (FDC) at the State Home Guards and Civil Defence Centre. Leesha's appointment is a record of sort as she is the first person from the State to be appointed under the quota victim of terrorist act, reports Kannada Prabha.
After dodging for four years, the State government has finally issued the orders for Leesha’s appointment on April 27, following the orders of High Court. Leesha reported to duty on a probationary service for two years and senior officials are training her.
Leesha was hit by the bomb that exploded in front of the BJP head office in Malleswaram on April 17, 2013. She was a student at that time. She had to undergo a series of surgeries to tackle 50 to 70 per cent deformity. When the State government dodged appointing her, she moved High Court, which ordered on Aug 17, 2016, to the State government to appoint her under the Central Scheme for Assistance to Civilian Victims of Terrorist and Naxal Violence. However, the government did not honour the court’s verdict. Leesha then moved the court and on June 6, 17, the HC gave a strict warning to the State government to appoint Leesha. Hence, the State government managed to give her a FDA post.
