Anwar Rahim entered Madikeri's Kondangeri and made people believe that he was a Baba. It looks like people start believing anyone who comes in the guise of a spiritual leader.
This holds true for Anwar Rahim who introduced himself as Iqbal Baba and said that he could make all the worries vanish. Interestingly, most of his customers or as they like to be called, devotees were women.
The Baba got a house for rent at Kondangeri and slowly the number of people visiting him with various problems increased. Slowly he shifted his business at night and started his business in the dark.
It is said that he would strip in the night and it is not sure what kind of solace he offered to the women. But the people in the surrounding area grew suspicious after three months. They entered his house one fine night and found him without clothes.
They beat him up black and blue and handed him to the police. Currently, he has been arrested by the Siddapur police. In the wake of CBI Court sentencing Dera Cheif Gurmeet Ram Rahim to 20 years of imprisonment, it is not sure what degree of punishment will be given to Karnataka's Ram Rahim, who was caught with similar charges.
Unless such religious leaders are punished for their cruel acts, the number of miscreants in the name of spiritual leaders will just grow.
