Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has visited Chamarajanagar 10 times during his tenure and is continuing in power. Here is the real issue, Chamarajanagar is considered as the 'cursed' place where the legend is that if a Chief Minister visits this place, he loses power. None of the earlier CMs of Karnataka including BS Yeddyurappa dared to visit Chamarajanagar.

This is why the current Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's repeated visits to Chamarajanagar gain importance.

According to reports, Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister, visited Chamarajanagar town 10 times, the district, 23 times and has launched various development programmes worth Rs 800 crore.

In his recent visit, Siddaramaiah has clearly said, "I don't think this is a cursed land. I have come here repeatedly to prove that. Now, it is your turn to prove by electing me to power in the next Assembly Election too."

JD(S) State President HD Kumaraswamy visited Chamarajanagar in 2007, and within months, he had to step down.

With just three months for the Assembly Elections, slated for May this year, will Congress win the Chamarajanagar constituency? Has the town become free from the negative spell? Only time can tell.
