Husband and his family killed and threw the body of the newlywed bride to a well as they doubted infidelity.

Deepa, 19, was married to Dileep just a week ago. The girl has lost her parents and was married off by her brother after giving the demanded dowry and gold.

It is alleged that husband Dileep, mother-in-law Shoolabai and father-in-law Somalla killed Deepa and threw her body into the well situated on their farm.

The couple got married at Kalloor Thanda on May 29. But as the husband saw Deepa talking to one of her relatives (aunty’s son), he doubted that she was cheating on him. The husband’s family did not give her chance to explain and killed her, said Praveen Jadhav, Deepa’s brother.

Praveen filed a case in this regard with the Chitaguppa police. Dileep has been arrested by the police. Other two accused Dileep’s father Somalla and mother Shoolabai are absconding.

After the death of parents, Praveen had arranged the wedding and had given Rs 50,000 in cash and a Splendor bike to Dileep and had put jewellery worth nearly a lakh.
