Here's a good news for Bengalureans that will spare them from queuing up in front of the fuel stations - at least in some parts of the city. Just a phone call and the petrol tanker would be at your doorstep. Yes, that's true. The City scripts a new chapter in home delivering of essentials now with the petrol and diesel.

Even before the Central government could launch the service - as it had earlier announced - a portal, mypetrolpump.com has already begun its service, in some parts of the city, reports Kannada Prabha. In the first phase, the fuel is being home delivered at HSR Layout, BTM Layout, Bommanahalli, Koramangala, Bellandur and other areas. Customers can also choose the date and time to have the fuel delivered, says the website.

However, this has not gone down well with a few fuel station owners. "It's outright illegal and it's a mafia," they cry foul, reports Kannada Prabha. They also did not rule out the possibilities of the adulterated fuel being sold to customers. "To home deliver petrol requires permission by the respective department. But the portal has not obtained any permission. It's illegal," complained fuel station owners. They fear that couple of stations in the city have joined hands with the portal to earn some quick money and this was not a good move. They were also concerned about the safety issues that the company allegedly has not adhered to.

Although the issue has been brought to the notice of the authorities, it has not helped, they rued. They felt that the mafia is secretly operating in certain parts of the city and the authorities must crack down on it, before it's too late.
