Gauri Lankesh killing: SIT interrogates Indrajit Lankesh, seeks his gun licence

Indrajit Lankesh is slain journalist Gauri Lankesh's brother Gauri and Indrajit Lankesh were at loggerheads over the property after their father's demise Gauri Lankesh was gunned down on September 5

Intensifying their investigations into the murder of journalist-activist the Special Investigation Team sleuths reportedly interrogated , brother of Gauri Lankesh. The investigation team has also questioned Gauri's sister Kavitha Lankesh and her mother, Indira.

According to Suvarna News, the police inquired about the gun that Indrajit Lankesh had allegedly used to threaten his sister during a property dispute between them in 2005. Indrajit Lankesh has reportedly claimed before the police that he does not have a gun licence. After the demise of their father, P Lankesh both brother and sister were at logger heads over the ownership rights of 'Lankesh Patrike' that their father edited and also the property. Gauri Lankesh had complained to the police that her brother Indrajit had threatened her with the gun. In view of further threat to the family, the police is reported to have suggested the family members to change the route to their home located at Rajarajeshwari Nagar.

The SIT is looking into the source of the gun that was used to kill Gauri Lankesh. They are also reviewing the CCTV footage obtained from Gauri Lankesh's residence and from all the toll booths located in the entry and exit point of the city. The police suspect that two killers could have come in a bike and made a recce of her house before targeting her. 

Gauri Lankesh was gunned down by miscreants at her residence on September 5.
