SI suffers fracture while trying to catch fleeing call centre employee

A probationary sub-inspector attached to Soladevanahalli police station suffered fracture on his right leg when a call centre employee trying to escape inspection rammed his bike into SI on Saturday near Jalahalli. PSI Naveen Kumar (30) is admitted to Hosmat Hospital, while Puneeth Rao (30) the call centre employee has also suffered injuries on his face, reports Kannada Prabha.

Puneeth was returning late at night after a party with friends in Jalahalli on Saturday. The police were checking the vehicles near Acharya College following complaints against bike thefts in the area. At around 2.30 am, Puneeth was speeding on his bike and the SI tried to stop him. Puneeth did not slow down instead tried go past the SI. But while trying to escape the police, he hit the SI injuring badly. Puneeth also suffered injuries on his face. Both were taken to the hospital. While Naveen needs operation, Puneeth was later detained by the police. A case has been booked in Jalahalli traffic police station.

In another incident, a car rammed into a two-wheeler, when its rear tyres burst, killing one person on the spot and injuring another seriously at Medahalli, KR Pura. The deceased is identified as Nithin (24). Manjunath has been admitted to the hospital with severe injuries. 

Both Nithin and Manjunath, employees of Geo Company, were returning home after their late night shift around 12.30 am when the accident occurred. It is reported that a car was trailing behind them and it suddenly hit the bike in front of it after its rear tyres burst. The impact was so much that the both the riders and the two-wheeler was thrown off the bridge. Nithin who was riding a pillion collapsed dead and Manjunath received severe injuries. Manjunath is being treated at the East Point Hospital for treatment. A case has been registered at KR Pura station.
