Mahanadi actress Rachana along with actor Jeevan had died in a fatal car accident at Malur in the wee hours of August 24.

Rachana was playing the lead role in the ongoing serial Mahanadi. Jeevan was acting in the comedy show Majabharatha.

Rachana,23, and Jeevan, 25, were in the TATA Safari on their way to Kukke Subramanya Temple along with five other crew members of Mahanadi serial.

They were going to the temple to seek blessings of the Lord Subramanya on the occasion of the birthday of Karthik, one of the crew members of the serial.

Jeevan was driving the car when it collided with a halted tractor at 2 am on Thursday (August 24) at Solur.

The five more travelling in the car with Rachana and Jeevan have escaped with minor injuries. The co-actors travelled with Rachana and Jeevan are Ranjith, Uttham, Honnesh, birthday boy Karthik and Eric. They have been admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
