It has come to light late that a father killed his 15 year old daughter for eloping with a boy of a different caste, reported Kannada Prabha.

Lakshmidevi (15) of Lakkappana Palya in Nelamangala taluk, Bengaluru Rural district, was studying in tenth standard at Mandigera village school. She had fallen in love with one Lakshmi Narayana. One and half months ago they both had eloped. A complaint was lodged in this regard with Thyamagondlu police station.

The police had investigated, found them and brought them back. As the girl was a minor, they advised her and sent her with her parents. The boy was also allowed to go after advice and case not booked.

However, after four to five days the girl’s father Chikkanarasimhaiah had beaten her with firewood resulting in her death. He then burnt her body in his backyard without bringing it to anyone's notice. When the girl was not seen for over 20 days the neighbours got suspicious and informed the village elders, who in turn informed the police.  When police took him into custody and interrogated he confessed that he had beaten her to death and then burnt her body.
