Doctor conducts surgery while the patient played guitar

Synopsis

City guitarist was suffering from Musician’s Dystonia that prevented him from playing. After 20 months of acute pain Abhishek met Dr Sharan Srinivas at Mahaveer Jain hospital. The neurosurgeon conducted the surgery without total anesthesia while Abhishek played the guitar.

Ever heard of a surgery being conducted when the patient played guitar? It happened in the City’s Mahaveer Jain Hospital, reported Kannada Prabha.

Guitarist Abhishek Prasad (37) was suffering from Musician's Dystonia, a rare condition that prevented him from playing guitar. It started as a small nagging pain in the left hand finger but gradually spread to his entire hand and it became impossible for him to even hold the guitar, let alone play it.  

After 20 months of suffering he came to neurosurgeon Dr Sharan Srinivas at Mahaveer Jain hospital. Dr Srinivas diagnosed that Abhishek was suffering from Musician's Dystonia and decided to operate on him. However, the surgery was conducted without total anesthesia and Abhishek was playing the guitar while the surgery was on. Needless to say, the operation is successful.
