Synopsis

Seven-year-old Ishika was a special child of Swathi and Kanchan Sarkar Kanchan had allegedly deserved the family after the couple frequently fought over Ishika Puttenahalli police have arrested Swathi

 In a heart-wrenching incident, a depressed woman who was irritated by her child's rant to have food, hurled her from the fourth floor -  twice - killing her instantly at Jaraganahalli near JP Nagar on Sunday.

The victim has been identified as Ishika alias Shreya (7), a special child.

The mother Swathi (36) was reportedly irritated that Shreya was stubborn to have the food served to her. Despite her effort to convince her, Shreya was unrelenting. Irritated at this, Swathi threw Shreya from the fourth floor of their residence at around 3.30 pm on Sunday. People rushed to the spot when they heard the cries of Ishika. Swathi ran from the fourth floor and took up Ishika crying back to the residence. But within a minute, people watched in horror as Swathi flung Ishika again from the fourth floor to the ground.

Angered at Swathi, bystanders tied her to a pole and reportedly beat her up before alerting the police. It is reported that Swathi was suffering from severe depression as Ishika was deaf and dumb and recently her husband had also allegedly deserted her.

According to Kannada Prabha, Swathi had married Kanchan Sarkar from West Bengal in 2005. It was their love marriage, and the couple moved to Bengaluru, ten years ago. The couple was staying at an apartment near Sri Rama temple in Jaraganahalli in JP Nagar. While Kanchan is reportedly working as a senior business analyst in a reputed firm, Swathi was a home maker.

The couple frequently fought over Ishika, a special child. Recently, it is reported that Kanchan Sarkar moved out of their home and was staying separate from his wife and child.

It is reported that Swathi was depressed over the fact that Ishika was deaf and dumb and her efforts to give her the best treatment did not help her in any way. Meanwhile, her helplessness to be a single mother of a special child reportedly pushed her into severe depression.
