BBMP corporator complains against husband, seeks police protection

A BBMP member has lodged a complaint against her husband with Kothanuru police, alleging harassment, reports Kannada Prabha.

Thanisandra BBMP member KM Mamatha lodged a complaint with police that her husband Venkatesh comes home drunk every day and harasses her. In a written complaint she requested the police to call him to the station and advise him but urged them not to file an FIR. Responding to her complaint, the police have registered a Non-cognizable Report (NCR).

KM Mamatha is the corporator from Thanisandra and her husband is a Congress leader. They were married for 14 years ago. They have two children. They live in Heggade Nagara in Kothanuru police limits. She has said in her complaint that her husband comes home drunk and fights with her. On Oct 20, he beat her in front of the children. Upset over this, she requested the police to advise him and give her protection.

Considering her complaint, the police promised to call her husband, Venkatesh who has gone out of the city and advise him.
