A complaint has been booked at Puttur police station in Dakshina Kannada against social activist from Gujarat Jignesh Mevani for making derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother while speaking at the “I am Gauri resist convention” in Bengaluru, reports Kannada Prabha.
One Arun Kumar Puttila has alleged that Jignesh’s speech implied that Modi was responsible for Gauri Lankesh’s killing and has spoken in a derogatory manner about Modi’s mother. Hence Jignani should be arrested and legal action taken against him, the complaint states.
It may be recalled here that Jignesh while addressing the protesters in Bengaluru had said that “Let us go to Delhi and sit on Modi's chest and ask him why Gauri Lankesh was killed". He even gone on to say that "Let us go to Modi’s mother and ask her why she gave birth to such a useless son(sic)?”
