CM Siddaramaiah takes Kannada class at the school where he studied

Synopsis

The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah taught Kannada to one class at the school in which he had studied.  He was launching a unique program called “Giving Back to The School I studied” He asked questions on grammar and was happy when students answered correctly. All children must get quality education, he said.

The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah taught Kannada to one class at the school in which he had studied.  He was launching a unique program called “Giving Back to The School I studied” organised by the Kuppegala Government School. Siddaramaiah taught grammar, reported Kannada Prabha.

It can be recalled that recently he had taken a class at the Cabinet session also about Kannada grammar. In the school also he asked questions like what is a long vowel? What is a short vowel? What is a consonant? He was very happy when the students answered correctly.

He told the students that because he studied in Kannada medium he could attain the stature he has today. Village students must discard the notion that only English education is good.  He said he was a topper when he was in Kannada medium and when he joined English medium he slipped in rank. Students from government schools who study in mother tongue become very intelligent. Children are the wealth of the society. All children must get quality education, he said.

He also inaugurated the old students association at the school and reminiscence old days.  He said he studied for one year at the Kuppegala Government School. Earlier to that he was not going to school but was a part of the folk dance group. Rajappa teacher had admitted him directly to 5th standard. “I did not even know my date of birth”, Siddaramaiah said.
